Life is precious, life is precarious.
We've seen a global challenge to peoples health and mortality over the last year (not that you need reminding!).
What it reminds me of is that we easily fall into the illusion that this grand experience of life is eternal.
A number of years ago, when my close friend Aidy passed away, I got that sudden reminder that we often get when someone close to us dies... "They're gone, but I'm still here. I've got my life... what am I going to do with it!?"
I know this sounds like a real 'downer', but in this live version of You've Got Your Life the true message is the hopeful and redemptive one of just how incredible it is to be alive and to focus on that each and every day.
A lot of things had to go right for each of us to be here, and if you're reading this, you might be counted among a relatively small number of humans on the planet where things are comparatively outrageously great!
We've got incredible scope to live out lives that are largely of our choosing. That's why this song ends in more of a question than a statement.
I hope this song gives you a moment to reflect on that question and come up with something that inspires you to be more fully yourself in the coming days, months and years.
